However, there are some notable service points…
- [] The air filter should be changed at 4 years. Most “menu” servicing schemes from Renault therefore look to change your air filter at your second service since that’s either 24k miles or 4 years. However, if you’re tracking ahead of 6k miles a year and your 24k service falls well before 4 years, you might want to simply check the air filter element for cleanliness. The standard replacement is a £100 part, which you may not need yet despite Renault telling you otherwise. The 4-year air filter change point has been verified on the central servicing system and is noted in the service book, so don’t let your local dealer tell you otherwise! [] The big service point is the cambelt change. This should be done at 72k miles or 5 years, which means in almost all cases it should be done at 5 years. Changing the cambelt is a major job, and you should expect to pay around a thousand pounds to have this done by a quality independent Vee expert. It is strongly recommended that, at the same time the cambelt is done, you have the water pump changed as well.
