Seat Airbag Resistors

Finally got around to fitting my new Sportster CS's today. My question is:

Can anyone give me some info on which wires to connect the bypass resistors for the seat airbags? I have kept the pretentioners on the seat belts.

I bought these from Steve-V6-D61: they are nicely presented !

Any help will be much appreciated!

Phil

Sorry to Hijac your post Phil... Colin, I'm waiting for my Pole Positions to come from Capital Seating, with the Clio base frames etc. I know there is a generic seat fitting guide in the knowledgebase on here, but is there anything further I need to know for fitting these seats that's not covered in K1anos how to guide?

cheers
Dan

Ah yeah, I remember seeing this a while back, but discounted it as they are trendline seats and its not a V6 Clio.

Does this guide work on the V6 also with pole position seats? Also is it worth buying the proper resitor kit from Capital Seating. I asked them today and the seats dont come with them. Its an extra £25 per seat for the resistor kit.

Thanks for any advice
Dan

The guide worked for me Dan :-)
Yes I fitted the trendlines but providing the PP don't have side airbags then can't see them really being that different. As far as I'm aware the wiring for the vee ( interior / seating ) is the same as the 182's. As for resistor kit, I bought the kit when I got the seats but £25 per seat is a little expensive when Steve can sell you practically the same resistor for pence!!!! The only difference is that with the recaro kit you get a connector block that clips in to the wiring loom. Your choice ;)
Give us a shout if have any problems and if I can help I will ;)

Just an after thought!!!! Might want to check you wiring every now and again as my airbag light came on after a couple of years after fitting and found this LOL

Thanks for the tips Russo, what would it take to get you over the border to help me fit em? .... a big pan of Lancashire Hot Pot perhaps? ;-)

Ive fitted 2 sets of these seats now into v6's and its really fairly easy, even easier if you have a ramp, cant get tricky without one (i never had one lol)

I would say hardest part overall is the fiddly resisters lol

Thanks Colin, I've ordered the resistor/fuse kits off Steve On here, £5.00 as opposed to £50 for the genuine recaro ones from Capital. I'm hoping they will be relatively simple to fit.

had the same thing Russo.....altho my connector came loose whilst in the Controle Technique centre ( MOT ) in Luxembourg, moving between stations as i got in/out of the car, airbag light came on, immediate fail

had to go out of the centre, jiggle a wire, re-enter, pay 25euro for a retest, they just check the 1 item it failed on & it passed

i was mighty pee'd off......& for them, it was money for old rope [smilie=doubt.gif]

on the subject of after market seats....what's everyone do for the centre console seatbelt warning light ?, the one that's controled by the seatbelt tensioner?, as when i had my seat professionally fitted they only did the connector for steering wheel airbag

so ever since i've always had the seatbelt warning illuminated

i should point out that i have a harness fitted & removed the original seatbelt
