Scotland trip eh? Count me in.

I would suggest doing this late May or even June.

Cool! Why do you suggest these months Iain?

Any earlier and we may need a group buy on snow tryes! Seriously though, by end May, you can at realistically hope for some decent weather.

You can easily cover a great deal of some of the best roads Scotland has to offer over 2-days although I say that sitting here in my Edinburgh Castle. Those from further afield would probably need to allow 1 or 2 days additional travel to get to the starting point.

Wise words Ali, think the standard wheels will be going back on also :approve:

Oh and thanks for helping out on this one mate :approve:

Martin has forwarded me on a draft route which covers alot of good stuff. I'll get the old boy to have a look at it this weekend. An East coast start probably isn't the greatest shout though, as i imagine 'most' of the Engerlandish will come up the M6 onto the M74?!

Thought this was a good idea for them to start in Edinburgh finish in Glasgow, see some of the sights and also go over the Forth Road Bridge and head up that way.I Would think most would be traveling up on the Friday and staying over night?
Finishing in Glasgow means easy access to M74 south or M8 to Edinburgh for some.

I did six days up there in September plenty of in-car footage from every day. Simply stunning scenery and even better roads! The 360 and I did launch a few times!! All four wheels off the ground never seen a Ferrari ever do that! Rained virtually every day but didnt spoil the enjoyment although we did lose a 575M off the side of the road [smilie=icon_eek.gif] near Eileen Doonan Castle.
A trip to the Highlands is well worth doing if you havent done it before.

Haha just realised I had posted about my trip on Sammy's tour round Scotland. Have to get round one day to posting up the footage well worth seeing :) and to give a taster to anyone interested for next year.

At the rate you haggis munchers are going we're gonna need passports for any Scotland trip. Breaking away from the fatherland??!!...

;) ;) :)

By popular demand.. and quite frankly, long over due.

All ideas and suggestions.. in here! :race:

Please also state if you'd be interested in attending this meet!!

Should be a pretty epic one! Apparently... there's an Illiad Blue v6 up there somewhere, owned by an area rep of some v6 forum!.. But this may well turn out to be little more than a myth, or possibly Scotch mist. ;)

Shaun are we still on for this ? If so any idea of possible dates as I may have to book some time off work :race:

Phill

James had asked me to maybe put something together and i said i would try and organize something.

Having never done anything like this, I think we should maybe start a fresh and ask some questions.

How many are likely to attend ?

How many days do you want to do it over ?

It's a big place... How far do you want to run ?

And when would be the best time ?

Discuss.........LOL

Hi Phill,

Alot of water has passed under the proverbial since this thread was started. Unfortunately, I dont think I'm best suited to pursue this event much further, what with Festival Renault, and other meets and events now planned.
I'd like to think I could still make this, but in reality I just can not commit to it at this moment in time.

Perhaps with the arrival of Sean, our new Scotlandshire rep, this would be a good time to start a new thread as suggested. If there's any help I can offer, please dont hesitate to ask, but for now... its...

Take it away Sean! :approve:

Sean

Glad to see someone finally taking ownership of events North of the border, I have no idea how timing looks without pouring through the other events in the wider vee calendar, but may I suggest first week or two in September at the very latest?

Happy to help plan this out and have reasonable (current) Scotland hooning experience to throw into the mix (as do others). Being local, let me know if you want to meet up to discuss. :salut:
