I would be very interested in chipping in as long as it could be used for/by the club members who have paid for it, and it could be used by the club for events.

andy you have p.m 8)

ok , thats two of us.

?16,000 / 2

= ?8000 each.

Need a few more here.

Would keep it in the club , and also for the club

       There's nothing plastic about the fuego   ok the old bonnet was a tad flimsey, which is why it decided to part company with the rest of the car at about 120 down the back straight at brunters!!!!

Andy

I dont think you need to spend ?11k on a Race Car to compete with them either lol

Strip a 21 to the same degree as the Fuego and you'll have a rival if not a beater - cos its got a chassis built for the power

I love the Fuego :D

As for the money input - I'm game for that

I think a certain stripped out 21 was BLOODY close to beating that feugo....

Oh yeah, thats what I mean, if he got off his arse and fitted a plastic back window and plastic sides he'd be laughing his belly off

All round the 21 has more metal than a Fuego.

possible number 6 here (down to ?1833.33) need to ask the other half (if it was only 3 figures she would be happier)
as for where to keep it etc.
if it is bought as a club purchase, the founders would be the people to look after it imho.
as for driving it, club track days.
thing is, what if someone puts it into the armco ?

lol

lol @ baldilocks, at the mo im still at the crossroads between total racecar and road car. at the mo it would only take me a couple of hours to put her back to full spec. so i already own a semi racecar. mmmm against my better judgement, im prob up for part buying it but i think we have forgotten 1 big thing, the cars in france, who pays to bring it into this country? not putting the dampeners on it, just being realistic, if i hadnt just bought a people carrier, i would have had the cash to buy it
i still think its a little pricey too.

It wouldnt be too difficult to drive over there with a trailer (on the chunnel) and drive back with it on it?

Lyn didnt you bid that for Primas car

what did i bid for the prima car?? i could have had it for less than this cars currently going for, and with that pedigree well worth it,, in the end i think renault paid around 15k or it was around 15,000 euros(will have to ask steve from the alpine club again)

the philips VIP car is a little overpriced in my mind, but still a very nice car, a consortium is a good idea, but dont forget there will be regular up keep costs, transportation, tyres, oil, fuel, insurance, (also possibly public liability if your doing displays/shows) and as some already said, what if one of the consortium shoves it into the armco, not really easy to get your dosh back.

if the car does come to the UK,,good luck to who ever buys it and boy your gona be popular
