RU02MAD For Sale Autotrader £14995

Standard wheels were back on it as the guy who bought it went and got them from Clarkies old garage. Worth asking where they are.

RU02MAD sold for £10,000 including buyer's premium on July17th 2013 at Brightwells auction. They didn't have too much of a description of the car in their catalog!

'This one owner car was purchased new by a Renault Specialist in Exmouth and has been fully maintained by him. It has covered 54,000 miles and comes with all of its paperwork including 4 service stamps. It has Renault UK’s Premier Security System and during a rather extended test drive to take the photographs performed perfectly.'

The only fault I could see was that it had been keyed down the driver's side, scratching the door and rear wing. It did say that the original wheels were available by separate negotiation.

I guess it has been in the trade since the sale as it's still 1 owner from new. I didn't know it had run on NOS when viewing, and I would be a little careful to ensure that the transmission hasn't been knocked about as a result.

Here are the photos from the auction.

She's back up for sale at Brightwells auction in May, for the third time. I can't understand why this car has been for sale in the trade for so long. Come on somebody, give her a good home!

Are You MAD?

I enquired about this, but tbh the nitrous thing out me off a little. Also no original wheels so I would have wanted it at an extremely good price to get it back to original, and not knowing what would be needed to totally revert the nitrous it could be a money pit...

That said, I may register my interest at the auction

I like the wheels and think they suit the car, but even though he had them custom made by WORK the rears are still a crazy offset and don't look right.

I think the nitrous has been removed, and forgive me if I'm wrong, but when installing don't you need to drill into part of the engine to plumb it in (so to speak). Not only wouldn't I want that, I imagine new parts to put it back original would be eye watering. Might as well wait for one to come up that doesn't need all the work

Usually at anything as low as 50hp jets you can fit a single NO2 and single Fuel nozzle by the throttle body. If it did use 6 independant jets (I doubt it) you can get the inlet manifolds for peanuts as the ph1 shared the same inlet as other renault v6s.

I believe the main questions, even though the NOS system has since been removed, that one would need to have answered are:
1. How much stress would the engine and drivetrain been under when the system was installed and used (frequency of use)?
2. Have all changes been reversed to get back to standard?
3. Whether or not there are any issues that will only manifest themselves as time moves on?

In any event it might be worthwhile getting a compression/leak down test on the engine just to be sure.
