Does any one know if the 299 renix units were used as a
unit on a standerd production car?
and not just as replacement units for the GD and Le car 2 turbos.
Does any one have copies of the wiring diagrams to change the wireing
to make the RX 299 fit the R5 GD turbos and the Le car 2s turbos.
I have a 299 on a GD turbo, and want to re fit the corect 009 unit
and kep the 299 as a back up.
But I have a Le Car 2 wiring loom and a number of 036 RX units and
TDC pick up spares for my Le Car 2 Turbo,
Would it be a straight swop to put these on to the GD turbo.
 
Hi there, I restoring a Gordini at the moment and have been told the 299 is good upgrade - is there any chance we could have a chat off line about it?
 
I remember phildini talking about some modified loom that allowed you to run the new aei on the old loom without chopping any wires....
 
The untold secret of the magical RE299!!! One of my cars was running this set up and it was brilliant, the car never detonated even on a hot summers day and was always smooth to drive.......
 
I have contacted Renault UK and they are on the job pf finding the information on how the wiring is set up.
 
You can buy the cable/harness to convert it from Renault, This is a conversion that actually Renault has made up, I guess to improve things. I will try to find out the part number for you, as I still have it in the original packaging. I am intending in using this set up on my R5 Gordini Turbo, as it was working so well on my previous car.

rsz_dscn0332-1.webp I will have a look at my GD turbo to see it the loom has the add in.
I want as much info as possible so if necessary I can replace / repair it or transfer to my other car.
