Renault sport specialist dealers

From Renault UK:

We’ve listened to the responses and are delighted to announce that we are launching 11 Renaultsport specialist dealerships. This expert network has been formed to equal the passion and enthusiasm that you as owners have for Renaultsport vehicles and that we have for designing and producing them.

All Renault dealers will continue to sell and service Renaultsport models but, from the beginning of March, Renaultsport Specialists will act as ambassadors for the range. Each specialist dealer will have its own Renaultsport Sales Expert and After-Sales expert and they’ll be able to demonstrate and offer customers test-drives in, the entire Renaultsport range.

Renaultsport specialists will also have exclusive access to the national Renaultsport events programme, allowing them, for example, to bring customers along to track days.

In appointing our 11 dealers we ran a specialist selection process in which they had to exceed set levels of sales and after-sales customer satisfaction and the nominated experts had to pass a knowledge test of the Renaultsport range – for both our current line-up and models from our rich heritage:

I'm not even going to suggest they were asked "How many wheels does a Clio v6 have" for the test. ;)

Oooops!

Did anyone notice how many times the word "Sales" was used?? Its only a marketing ploy. 99% of all Renault garages still have clueless idiots in thier work shops and even thicker ones behind the parts desk. lol

Wow! Scott at SG Motorsport must be trembling in his boots at this news!

As far as I can see, some dealers have given a couple of existing employees fancy titles, and if you buy a R26R you might be invited to a track day.

why wouldnt they be able to offer a test drive? it is after all already available at any Renault Dealer if requested and booked. Just that these dealers should hopefully have the cars in stock. its only 3 models after all. (twingo, Clio 200 and Megane 250)

Hmm, I was goingto have my Vee serviced at Parks (Dunfermline) in March....has anyone got any experience of Ness Motors in Perth, as this is a lot closer to me.

You dont know dealers up here then

Hmmm, interested to see Chester on there but good that there is a local one at the same time ...

I would have to give them the benefit of the doubt though as I have had had two issues with them in the past with my Vee relating to simple things.

1. Leaving oil sodden blue paper on the exhaust manifold which I discovered when I inspected the engine in the car park, after a service.
2. The polava over the thermostat that I knew was faulty and they refused to repair it under warranty without me paying for a non-refundable £70 diagnostic fee, after they had already denied it was faulty on two occassions. This with the symptoms that the heater never worked and the engine didn't reach temperature - no brainer if you ask a novice like me. I replaced it myself and of course it was the common fault of the sealing ring coming loose ...

Generally though I think it is a good idea if the service quality is good and dilligent, but IMHO, this is down to individual technitians and their enthusiasm for the job and cars rather than who they work for and the 'branding' ...

I asked about getting a test drive in a 20 at my local dealer.

"We can't get one of those"

not surprising as they went out of production in 1984. ::):

I find this a bit odd as Deb and i have been to couple of dealerships in the essex area and all of the salesman say they are a Renaultsport specialist dealership and they think they know what there talking about, when you ask them any kind of question errr... i have to get back to you about that! Especially when you ask to explain the difference between a cup and standard! the amount of people that i talk to say yeah thats a cup! But why? Errr the colour??

Marketing rubish, they should just open 2 or 3 speciallist branches accross the UK so they are just dedecated to Renaultsports only. I'm sure i read somewhere the is in other country's accross europe a couple of dealerships just dedecated to Renaultsports.
