21 Turbo Renault Safrane or 21/25 Steering Rack

Has anyone changed/repaired a steering rack on a Safrane?
Or maybe a Renault 25 or 21 then? I would think that they would be similar any advice would be welcome

I've never touched a Safrane one but pretty sure it was a normal subframe mounted rack. Very similar to most Renault of that era.

The 21 rack is high up, bulkhead mounted, Quite an unusual setup with huge long track arms out to the shock bodies. Definitely not the same as the Saff.

Thank you for the information I will look into a bit further as the only thing I have found so far is a youtube video on how to change a rack on a trafic!!

Yep its low down on the subframe, meaning its going to be an asshole to get out, expect to drop the subframe for access. The Saff was in that era of cars where they started to get real complex, but before design took into account service and access to components. I recall everything on mine being a total goddamn ballache. If it ever needs a heater matrix, just scrap the car lol
