Hello,
Bought a Extra van with the c1e engine which I'm keeping and using in France .
It developed running issues , so I gradually changed the following as I already had the parts.
new fuel pump ,new coil,manifold gasket , checked & changed any dodgy hoses .
All fluids ,plugs,leads,filters..Engine is very healthy , about 90k.
This time i got rid of the points and went to electronic ignition & set the timing to +8° as stated in the manual.
also fitted a NOS carb.
It started & ran like never before, until suddenly yesteday the problem returned only worse.
It will start and idle, but you can't load the engine, or even rev the engine without it choking and missing until it stalls.
I've rechecked the timing & also took the new carb apart to make sure that the float wasn't sticking..
Was going to leave it a lockup at the local station tomorrow ,so I could get back next time, but looks like that plan has gone wrong
!
