I'm after a power steering rack off a mk1 clio, ideally in good working order but doesn't matter about track rod ends as i'll be fitting new ones
If you have the pipework to go with it that will be even better, pics will be handy so I can see if I need a different steering column or if mine will fit onto it already

Let me know what you have

I'm sure I have a few spare Clio 1.8 16v racks. Not sure if the track rod arms are there. I'll get in the garage over the weekend and let you know

I am doing this conversion at this very moment!

Several things to watch for: if your existing rack is splined you'll need a different lower-half of your steering shaft - get one from Mike @ GT Turbo Spares. You will also need the big flappy grommet thing that goes over the steering rack end and into the bulkhead. You will know if you've got a splined end or square end on your rack if you look at the grommet over the steering rack from the engine bay side. If it's a big plastic one then it's splined. If it's a big, soft, rubbery thing, you have a square end.
You can follow my thread but if I were doing it again, I would probably change the rear engine mount rather than faff around with flexi hoses.
Also, don't use the Mk I Clio track rod ends. They are too long. Mk 2 shorter and just fit (I think)! Not yet got to fitting them...
Oh and by the way, make sure the rack mounting rubbers are good in the rack you buy. Difficult to obtain.
I am actually considering fitting a later rack. I have one from a 182 and I think I just might be able to get it to fit if I modify the mounts(!) and find some shorter inner track rod ends. I should have one coming in the post today so I can check it.

Checked mine today, I cannot find the mounting brackets they are bound to be in a box somewhere but I'm not having a big clear out of the garage until next week. I have the new genuine 5 inner track rod arms also.

If you are after one quicker have you considered a 172/182 steering rack? I think Bruce mentioned he had two spare earlier.

If you definitely still want a Mk 1 rack I will sell you mine. What pipework do you need? I have the original high presssure pipe and low pressure but not the low presssure fitting. I can reinstate the original rigid pipes. The mounting rubbers aren't too good. I can supply the brackets and new track rod ends too. Photos tomorrow.

I need the rigid pipes that attach to the rack, the ones that come from the rack to the pump and tank I can mate up
That's ok about the rubber mounts I could make some new ones at work. That's brilliant if comes with new track rod ends too
