preRS Clio Renault Clio 16v build (N16AMF)

Hello folks.

Thought I'd share my project here after reading some of the others on here, it's not a turbo but still cool IMO ;)

So, my girlfriend bought me this xerus grey valver last year for my birthday, bought it from a mate who lost control of it and hit a signpost near where we live, the result...
Smashed rear quarter, rear quarter glass, bent nearside stub axle and fooked wheel/tyre. He was setting about breaking it and I wanted to save it :) he did sell the passenger door and a few other bits, however the door pins were stuck so he cut the hinges.

The car had a fair few problems, mostly electrical, which turned out to be the looms, they had been cut and spliced all over, so I swapped that loom out with the loom from my Naples clio, while I was on with that the original dashboard had numerous random holes in so I swapped that put too, but before I fitted everything in I refurbished the dash.

I will fetch it up to date soon as I have retrieved all the photos from the other forums she's dotted about on :-)

Yeah I've already removed the hinges from my other scrap shell :-) been doing all the measuring etc the past few days. It's rather tricky doing this kind of stuff on your own lol, holding the door right and trying to weld. Ran out of daylight today though so might be able to get it done tomorrow. Going to post the other photos on in a minute to, I'm unsure on how to get them in order though lol

So, here's the other photos, they're not in order as I haven't worked out how to do so like u have on other forums, so I'll do the boring writing first.

At some point in its life someone had installed bonnet clips of some type onto the wings, so I filled them in, also I'm fitting ph1 parts so the holes in the boot lid where the renault and clio badges go also had to be filled, I used some jb marine weld, basically metal filler, which dries as metal, so did that and filed it flat and stuck on a little skim of bondo and primer. Some more of the bent stub and brake disc too lol. The rest of the stuff is boring, they're about the only pictures but more to come.

Today I managed to get the bottom door hinge welded on but as id got it done daylight was gone so couldn't get a photo, everything is lining up well too which I'm glad about, so once these are on, it will be time to sort the other bits out, I may have sourced a rear quarter, just waiting on a price so after this I will probably start making some patches for the chassis where they have rotted slightly. I will also be making a patch for the inner wheel arch too as the one I removed from my other shell had rotten where the bumper secures and further down toward the sill, luckily I have to new inner wing panels from a lower spec mk1 so will be able to use those to make it solid. More to follow, along with photos of today's antics ;-)

Is it a new rear quarter you've sourced?
Possibly, I'm not getting my hopes up though. I've gave them my Vin number to see if it is the right one. If this one falls through which I'm pretty sure it will, I have found a valver write off with decent rear quarters fairly local to where I live. Fingers crossed!
