I picked up the Liquid Yellow from Scott today after having it's belt service done last week. It needed very little else doing, but the clutch and slave cylinder were replaced as a matter of course. It also had 4 new tyres and a 4 wheel alignment, and the car feels really superb to drive now.
The clutch was good before with a very slight judder, but now it is genuinely the smoothest most progressive clutch I think I've ever used. The car feels really well planted and gives great feedback with the new tyres, and together with the clutch, it feels transformed. Really enjoyed the drive home.
Whilst I was there an Acid Yellow car turned up on a trailer, newly bought. I'd never seen one in the flesh, and it's not Acid Yellow at all,,,,it's Acid Green! Gorgeous colour, and stood next to my Liquid Yellow, it would be hard to choose between them.
Here are a few pics for anybody who hasn't seen a Vee with the engine out. It was the first time for this car as Paul, the previous owner, had it done in situ. The car is in amazing original condition, and the only rust I could see was on the driveshafts, which I doubt were painted when new. The photos show that Renault were pretty mean with their colour coat when painting, only doing the bits that could be seen. But even though a fair bit is not coloured it seems well protected from the elements.
I have been thinking about selling on the Mars Phase 1 this year as I didn't use either car much last year. But driving the Phase 2 car today may just delay those plans!
