It should be no bigger job than a 182, it may take more gas as the compressor in in the back of the car (on the engine) and the a/c radiator may be bigger than a 182. Any A/C specialist or decent garage should be able to do it.
Just be aware that if the gas has all gone the system may have a leak. They will be able to tell if it has a leak when they connect the car to the charging station, they need to great a vacuum in the car system 1st. If it won't keep the vacuum there is no point putting the gas in the cars system as it will leak out in the same place as the vacuum is leaking... the issue then is to find the leak. 1st place to look is the a/c radiator as its in the front of the car and it may have stone damage.
The pump won't click in if the gas is low, there is a pressure switch built in the car system that wont allow the pump to work if the pressure is low. 53 plate... could be just an age thing. As i said if the garage can get the car to hold a vacuum then its just a re-gas £40-50ish.
Hi mate, mines an 05 plates and when I had it regassed last year there was only enough gas for the pump to kick in...after the regas it's been spot on. :approve:
