Decided that i want the sportster recaro's that the clio 200 has, just for the yellow stitching, and the fact i thought they were brilliant seats when i had my 197 cup. 2 issues really, obviously if i can find a set of these (1st issue), secondly how does all the airbag wiring, and the fact the cd changer is under the passenger seat affect fitting these, will the vee's system still fire the airbags on these recaro's in the event of a crash?
Oh, and if anybody knows of someone who has a set could they please let me know, and where do a good job of fitting them would much appreciate it.

Nick Trott (EVO editor) who is on here infrequently has a set from either the 197 or 200 fitted to his.

Maybe drop him a PM re fitting and other issues?

Not sure where u would find some Renault ones but you can buy the sportster on Captial Seatings site.

You can plug resistors into the airbag wires and no warning light or fireing off will occur with these in.

Cheers Matt, i think i am in for a long wait tbh, till someone decides to upgrade the 200 or crashes one- unless renault prices are not too unreasonable? :rofl:

The 197 Recaros are a nightmare to fit in the vee, I bought a pair and asked Mike at Rentech to fit them, he said they were too tall and the subframes needed cutting and altered, in the end I sold them for a profit and bought some brand new Sportster CS from Capital Seating.

Since selling the 197 ones I have read that they wear out very quickly and the subframes can become rusty, quite a few had to be replaced under warranty, they looked the part but I'm glad I got rid of them now, the Clio 200 ones look like exactly the same material except colour coded.

Good luck with your search but as Matt says you can get them from Capital Seating, albeit better quality ones.
