So, i'm off to the RenaultSport trackday on 21st Aug (I hope!) and I need a new rear tyre (0.5mm left!!).
What do I do? It's a Michelin PS2 that needs replacing, and i've got a Michelin PS1 bought by mistake
on the offside rear with a fair bit of life left in it.
I thought I read somewhere that it's bad to have two different makes of tyres on each side, so i'm reluctant to go for a different brand. I've got some relatively new PS2's on the front.
So, with the trackday in mind I reckon 0.5mm is not enough so i'm going to get a new tyre beforehand. Do I:
1. Get a new Michelin PS2 just for the nearside rear.
2. Get two Nang Kang rear tyres and replace both the PS1 and worn PS2?
3. Wait until after the trackday?! But i'm sure that what is left on my tyre is a bit risky though.
Thoughts please!! thanks.
