rear brake disc size

Im having big problems trying to find rear discs, I brought a set from a company for £80 went to fit them but the hub hight was to big! the discs I was sold were 310x28x47mm. I spoke to the supplier who told me that this was the size that all the companys were listing and from what I have been finding on the net he is correct!. My discs are 310x28x37 not 47mm. Has anyone had this problem, if so where can I get discs from, thanx.
 
Unfortunately if V6 discs sound too cheap, they are probably incorrect - perhaps as you have found. Some discs on e-bay listed as front for a Vee are clearly not correct also ...

I can't understand how all these companys can get away with selling them knowing that they are wrong! I did my part and told the company who sold me the discs (CPA) that they were wrong, they then told me that they find it hard to belive that all the other suppliers on his system had got it wrong but he would look into it.... I then phoned a week later and possed as a buyer for a set of rear v6 discs, to my suprise they gave me the same part number, they had not looked into it it had seemed! I just cant understand how all these suppliers are getting away with supplying the wrong part to this day, what can we do?...
 
What supplier link and what part number did you get?

Use this and let me know your exact measurements please.

Hi James, Just done measurements of discs, they are as follows:

Diameter 300mm
Hub hole diameter 61.0mm
Overall height 37mm
Thickness 24mm
5 Stud
Vented

The suppiler of the discs which had the wrong hub height were BRAKE ENGINEERING havent got a part number tho, QUINTON HAZEL had the same disks also being the wrong hub height, the wrong hub height being 47mm. Any ideas? thanx
 
I'm informed they are only available from Renault under licence by AP. Haven't come across any other supplier for 37mm height.
 
thanx for looking, so if i was to order the discs through renault would they be the 37mm im after? Just want to be sure.

I think it quite likely they will be the correct size to fit your Vee. I have asked K-tec to measure a set from their stock, if they agree I will let you know ASAP.
 
Thanx James, I have got to get the car MOT'd before the 22nd as im taking it up to Scott at sg motorsport to get some work done, I see on k-tec's site there discs are £458 ish which is much better then renault direct! I still cant see how all the suppliers are still selling the wrong discs even know I have told them that they are wrong, Im sure im not the first person to have this problem and raise the issue with the suppliers. :s :s :s

Yes I can confirm our discs are as above measurements and fit the cars, no problems.

Thanx for all your help James. I have just brought genuine renault AP racing front and rear disks and pads for my vee!!! Got the lot for £500. It must be my lucky day. [smilie=icon_cheers.gif]
