Ren, I do see where you're coming from - modding cars properly is technical, interesting, challenging and big fun. Everyone has to start somewhere, so yeah ok, we buy an induction kit - but you're not going to start modding your car by handing over £13k the day after you've picked it up....its a natural progression for those that want to do it - its hardly a sin to buy a couple of 'choice' mods. (btw Lexus lights are a sin, and that's not up for debate ;))

I know an M3 is quicker, but having owned an M Roadster, I know that its all too easy - where's the challenge? Surely mid-engined, RWD, interesting handling and rarer than most is what defines a petrolhead car?

Hey, Look! maybe I've been a little OTT but what concerns me when you read some of the threads on this forum is that a cracking car is gonna end up being associated with that 'orrible teenage 'Max Power' bunch that hang out outside Halford's and the local Tesco's car park all Burberry Baseball hats and White Shell suits or whatever they are, so just have a think about what you do to your pride and joys, if you need a new back box because yours has gone home fair enough just keep it sensible lads spend yer hard earn't dollar wisely

i still fail to see how fitted something like a quicksilver exhaust and a proper sealed induction filter to one of the rarest cars in the country makes it asscociable with local neds in their 1.2 corsa's with 42" slash cut powerflow tailpipes and their wannabe shopping lists down the doors..

thats like saying fitting a tubi style exhaust to a ferrari or lambo makes it chavvy

but what are those items adding to your car ? Colin, have a look back over some of the threads on this forum and most of it seems to be about stick on fluff 'n' stuff all very airy fairy, What I'm saying is that most people with quality car's (of which your one) don't mess with them because, they sound and look good just as they are, I mean you wouldn't stick 20+" wheels on a F430 would you just because it looked good, it would seriously compromise the ride and the handling, or would you ? if it was the effort and was worth doing the manufacturer would have done it and that includes Renault
What i'm trying to say is if it isn't going to improve significantly then all it is airy fairy look at me stuff and yer dosh has been eaten up by another maker of stick on bits, if noise and bling is all yer want thats up to you - you could just make a bloody great hole in the back box and save yer self a bob and drill some holes in the air filter box for the induction noise, there cheap as chips
SORRY, SORRY, sorry Colin its nothing personal you know but as you get older you will come around to this way of thinking

One of the reasons why people own Vees is because they are a bit more individual than you typical mass produced car. As a result it shouldn't be surprising that then people want to make them even more individual ... be it styling, or new rims, or simple engine mods, or full on engine mods. In my case I've a v6clio.net sticker and a filthy car to make it look like a rally slag.

Net is that we're all different and have different tastes and it'd be boring otherwise. One thing that is clear tho' is that we all do love Vees :D.

Peace!
