I stumbled across this car when I bought some wheels off ebay a few years ago. When I collected them I asked if the chap had a v6, and he went and opened the garage and this was sat there!

It started life as a Trophy racer, but almost nothing original remains.

It has a 400bhp, 3.5litre Swindon Race engine. Its Spaceframed, Proflex suspension, motec M600 & Sequential Sadev box. The previous owners replaced all the original panels with GRP panels and have the molds for replacements.

It was championed successfully by James Bird for a few years and was very competitive. Had an absolute mountain of spares when I saw it (no cromodoras though!! )

Looks like it has a Vauxhall engine to me and pretty much zero Renault anywhere. Shame it's a Trophy car cut up beyond being salvageable. The amount of work that has gone into that, it would have been financially more sensible starting of with a 500 quid 1*2.

It's painted in renault 5 giro d italia paint scheme. The first time the mid engined turbo went rallying

Seems like it has been well played with, a real shame, especially since it was a real V6 Trophy to begin with.....

I remember a rallycross 6r4 with its own moulds because it was 2 inches shorter than any other metro

yes , spoke to owner at last round british rallycross at croft 2 weeks ago , he just sold his phase 1 to we buyanycar, His rallycross car he may split , he had offer 10k for rolling chassis, but is holding on to see if he can sell his 400hp engine seperatley coz thats where all the money is, the only v6 bits are the body , he has the moulds ,? complete rear half body tilts in one, the rest of car has been special built, UNFORTUNATLEY SOMEONE RAN HIM TO HIM AS HE WAS RACING, Will try get some pics i have of damage. :race: ,
