R5TS upgrade rear drums to Alpine/Gordini discs.

Hi Guys,

I've got an R5TS in Australia, which is an import, and as a result an orphan over here.

The knowledge is limited as they weren't sold here, so I was hoping I could pick some brains here.

Initially I was planning on re-kitting the brakes and master cylinder as the seals are gone, and I thought it'd be a good time to change the rear drums with the gordini discs that came with the car.

I've taken one drum off, dremelled off the inner track, changed over the drum backing plate with the triangular disc plate, hammered a new bearing on, and fitted the 'new' old disc (with pads and calipers still installed)

Now for the questions...

1) The disc isn't turning freely once everything is tightened up, the pads are gripping the disc. Normal? It can be turned by hand, I was hoping it was the surface rust causing this, and that they'd "wear in"

2) I'm looking at replacing the master cylinder rather than re-kitting, as it works out cheaper buying from the UK than the seal kit alone here.
Should I be looking for a different master cyl (than the original) to accommodate the rear discs?

3) Do I need to look at anything else, like the rear brake proportioning valve?

Thanks in advance,

David.
