HI

Has anyone converted the fronts of their 5's to vented discs, meca car parts will sell upgrades but was wondering if anyone also might have found similar discs that fit?

and what caliper's have you used

Thanks

Gary

Are these four or five stud hubs bud? If four you have a plethora of discs to choose from, like my 5-stud 21 for example has 5-stud Clio V6 discs on it. Three stud you'll be very limited.

Hi Dave

I am in the process of having hub conversions made to allow ford 108pcd fitting, it will allow me to run the minilite wheels that I want, however the bells for the discs are 6 bolts which bolt to the hubs which are 3 stud, so the stud numbers shouldn't make a difference, I seem to recall seeing a thread a while ago with regards to discs and bells that were interchangeable

Um. Wow. Confused now lol.

So it has bells and you need rotors?

No I have both bells and rotors!! But am having conversion hubs made that will bolt onto mine but give the ford four stud fitting , like a 12mm spacer but allowing the conversion. But I want to run vented disc

If you want to keep it Renault, you'll need to keep it 4 x 100mm PCD with 60.1mm centerbore. I'm readonably confident that you'll be able to get Minilites in 4 x 100 PCD too?...

nope on the mk1 5s the disk is separate from the hub face, the disk doesnt go over the studs like newer cars. have a look at the 15 and/or 17ts disks

Hmmm. I've not seen another Renault with discs like that, however i'd likely buy a normal disc and get a machine shop to machine the middle out and drill the new rotor/bell mounts.

I'd also get four done so I had a backup pair for the future.

Ah, I see. Like Classic Minis. Still, I was more referring to the 4 x 100 PCD over the Ford/Peugeot 4 x 108 PCD. I don't suppose it matters if you do the hub conversion to both front and rear?
