Megane R26 WIRING DIAGRAM

I've been looking through the wiring diagrams (not easy) and it does appear that PPM2 pin 8 is the coil common supply. Only issue is I cant find what fuse rating protects this supply. The battery cutoff switch aux contact for the ignition is only 5A rated !!

On the ph1 the coil feed is internally connected in the UPC to the output from the fuel pump relay (and I'd expect this to be the same on the ph2) so they have a 12V supply only when the engine is turning over. The feed into the FP relay is the 30A fuse on the battery terminal.

Here's a diagram, I can't find the original of this now but this is the one I marked up for my own purposes.

Tonite I've had a play.

If I lift the cable from fuse 3 (on the battery) the engine stops straight away. I then within a second disconnected the battery +ve to simulate (as near as possible) the action of the battery cutoff switch.
I then removed the keycard.

Reconnecting the battery and fuse 3 the hazard flashers come on, I turned these off then restarted no issues.

So I think this is how I'll wire in the cutoff switch (which will need to be one of the electronic Cartek type as the current measured at fuse 3 was over 10A)

Any ideas as to why the hazards flash ?

Why can't you just cut the coil feed? Put it in line after it comes out of PPM2 pin 8... or have I missed something?

I could just cut the coil feed but suspect that the load would exceed 5A so the mechanical switch now installed is not suitable but If I use the Cartek electronic unit (as I would have too when cutting the total load fed by F3) it would be fine.

@Neal R19

It looks as if the phase 1 fusebox may be different from the phase 2, had a look at phase 2 225 (2007) that was being broken and the connector arrangement is different. I've tried to load a pic but it won't load.

Here is a link to what it looks like

Looks like I need to find later info for the Meg 2 phase 2 just to confirm whats what.
