R25 GTX in Sydney

Hi Everyone,

After having a series of retro mercs, beemers and even the odd porsche I've finally stumbled into the wonderful world of french car ownership in the form of a Renault 25 GTX. My "Normal" day to day cars are Alfa 159 diesels so the renault is more of a hobby / weekend car.

It's an 88 model with 192k kms, the 2.2 litre injected motor with 5 speed manual gearbox and have to say it drives extremely smooth and quiet... In fact, for it's age it seems to have been pampered with no rust and no major interior, exterior or mechanical issues.

Area's in need of attention is a slight oil leak at the rear of the head, a rumble in the LH front wheel bearing and replacement of the backlight globes in the very cyber "80's" dashboard.

All in all though I'm EXTREMELY impressed with this vehicle and have to say it must have been an awesome car when new. These cars don't seem to have been a big seller here in Australia so to see another on the road would be quite a coincidence... Anyway, here are some pics.

Prab

quick edit, i noticed windy windows in the rear, Australia must of not gotten rear electric windows as standard, in europe the GTX had electric rear windows, and the GTS did not
