quicksilver exhuast....how loud?

i was thinking of upgrading the standard exhuast to a quicksilver jobbie as i see a lot of vee owners do and apparently it gives more power but was wandering how loud it makes it coz im a little worried that it might make me sound like a max power tosser!! :)

I believe there are two versions. OMG! and standard I can still hear the radio.

Jainy has an article in the Knowledge Base in the How To section. It may mention what the noise levels are (possibly).

I have a one of Prospeed D-cat system fitted to my car, and a 4 way amp fitted under the seat. ;)

I once believed aftermarket exhausts might spoil that lovely v6 sound, but they enhance it in my limited opinion.

I fitted the OMG a few weeks back and I love it, though it is a little too loud. On over runn it pops and bangs gets lots of attention I think they rate the OMG (supersports) at 98db, If you drive the car every day I would recommend you think about getting the Quicksilver sports which is rated at a lower 92db which is still loud compared to the standard backbox at 81db

Yep, can vouch personally for that and so can my hearing..!!! 98db for the OMG QS, cause I had it fitted on my Vee for nearly 9 months......it is deafening at 2,000 and 4,000 revs....but sounds amazing when it pops and burbles on the over run....totally amazing actually....but I think it seriously impaired my hearing, as I was doing some serious mileage in it at the time.... [smilie=drunken_smilie1.gif] :s hahaha!

Ace if you're only gadding about town though..!! :approve: :D

I have the OMG and love it. Sounds really good on over run and really adds to the engine note when combined with a BMC or pipercross Filter too.

alot better than standard.

Does the standard Quicksilver also pop and bang on the overrun aswell? Am keen to get a new exhasut and only want sound quality enhanced not ruined with something that is just loud but no quality. At the same time don't want to go too loud. Love the popping and crackling on the overrun though

im liking the sound of the quiter version, kinda ehances the original sound but doesnt sound too boy racer! i bought mine fitted with a pipercross induction kit so should sound nice teamed with a new exhaust. just gotta scrape a few quid together now! :s
