How many miles from cold before your temperature gauge gets to the middle position?

Mine takes about 5 - 10 minutes of driving, so 4-5 miles before it gets up to temp

Maybe 3-5? Depends which way I leave the village as well heh, cos one is a long gentle uphill, and one is fairly downhill.

Related question though - after I changed my spark plugs to new ones from Renault the temperature gauge never reaches the 5th notch on the gauge only ever reaches the 4th notch during normal runs - not sure why e.g. maybe a temperature sensor / connector was made loose when fitting the plugs?

3 miles if that - I jump straight on the motorway and keep the revs constant but below 3,000rpm which seems to warm it up quickly.

mine don't reach half way any more either...and it now jerks when driving til its warm

5-10 mins, and that's normal.

Been through two thermostats, I know when it doesn't warm up properly!

Mine never gets to half way only 3rd dot at the most. Usually only the second dot. That why i put up a post asking about the thermostat

Mine heats up real quick after a service! - Big difference. Usually let it idle on starting for 3-4 min.
