Project Vincent (pic heavy)

well this ones my winter restoration and will be sold when it gets a bit warmer so after that i may get another renault just depends whats available, i do love my renaults though ive had a 1996 renault megane rt and a 1994 renault clio rsi before and they were a couple of my favorites:D well always have a renault in the family though as my mom has a renault clio and she loves it to bits lol

not much progress these days due to the stupid weather :(
but did manage to give it a wash today :D
it now resembles a car instead of a mountain of snow :D

discovered the source of the missfire today, turns out i broke a sensor when refitting the head which is the air sensor, i asked renault and they wanted £40 for a little sensor :O
so im going to have to get one off another renault thats being broke

sadly there isn't any for sale on ebay bit it looks a little like this...
i53.tinypic.com_2ikfcb4.webp
exept its black and the connector is round and the sensor bit looks like a hoop with a little sphere inside it.

i know the one you mean, i shall have a look for one tomorrow when im sober again, good works so far mate, also any time you need anything dont waste any time about putting a thread in the bits wanted section, half my cars are built from other members cars

took it round the block today and it was absolutely perfect :)
no hesitation alot more power and no overheating :D
still got the missfire on idle but at least i know its the air flow meter and not something worse:)
also been continuing with the door, its now nice and flat and ready for some paint, i will upload some pics tommorow :D

hey jim are your wheels 14 or 15 inch? i like them, would look good on my cabby too :D

as for the bodywork isn't it too cold and damp outside to be painting?

there 14" i think, there origionally off the clio rsi and they look perfect on the 19 imo

it is a little cold outside but so far no paint reactions and the doors finished now :D

You should really remove the handle and lock and block that corner in full sweeps. Too keep pinholes to a minium UPOL FANTASTIC is a good filler.

Am I imagining it or have you been rubbing the door down while closed, and over-sanding on to the rear quarter panel?

Also, that handle must look a right state now, the number of coats of primer and paint it's had. Does it still actually move?

lol
the door was sanded while open but a bit of dust got on to the rear panel when i closed it and the handle isnt that bad, i mainly tried to avoid it so it only really has 1 coat of primer on it and yes it still moves
