bought this Ph1 a few years ago off a fella that got done for drink driving.he thought the gearbox was gone because of the noise, turned out to be a knackered wheel bearing.swapped over a front hub, noise gone.it also needed a gearbox mount and drivers side engine mount.further inspection showed it needed sills but the rest was rust free.removed the dash to repair the loom due to burnt wires
dash is back in place. had to leave the heater direction cable disconnected due to the bottom flap being seized and no amount of wd40 would loosen it.sun roof and windows didnt work.sunroof was just a blown fuse and the passenger side window was a dodgy connection at the motor. cant get drivers side to work.
costs so far
€200 91 r19 16v 3dr
€ 65 rear gearbox mount
€ 20 swap over of 2 2nd hand tyres
€120 new header tank,pas and brake fluid bottles
Jobs to do
replace both sills or part of
repair slight rust around bonnet vent
change timing belt and tensioners
prep for paint
refit sunroof
strip and rebuild calipers
tidy and correctly route loom
replace powerflow system with something quieter
clean headlining
fit leather seats
schultz and stone chip underside

Started stripping down the front end so i can drop down the sub-frame and engine/box in one go.removed drivers side wing as its a bit scabby.

Car raised up and sub-frame dropped down.forgot to disconnect the gear linkage but managed to unbolt it after.hope its not bent.also removed the passenger side wing.

Stripped out the engine bay,removed all aux parts from the engine.

Fitted spare subframe,hubs,shocks to make shell manouverable

Removed steel brake lines and master cylinder
Spot blasted any rust from engine bay.
