Pre Production V6 Phase 2

Just picked up on this.

As Shaun says my pre production has much less info on the VIN plate. No weights and says "not saleable" but still got registered ok age related.

Also you don't have to be a listed club to provide a dating letter.

Interesting looking at the steering wheel and rear engine covers (they look suede?)

Yeah... Recall how the ph1 wheels were covered? Just the same look but on a ph2 wheel.

I don't recall much about the engine covers..

What exactly does the chassis number show on the cross beam underneath the right hand seat?

Nothing, it is blank as if it were a new shell....

This is the VIN and info sticker - these correspond to a Phase 1 also built in 2001 that I worked for a customer, it was even the same colour.

Thanks again for all your collective input.

thread revival, and REX is no longer a member, but just on the off chance he comes back, or any other simlar cars show up, I have found a bit more out about this car.

The 'EP' in the chassis number stands for Evolution Prototype. This car was built by TWR at Uddevalla and was a new chassis built as a development for the ph2 v6.

Note that is not a ph1 that was then fitted with ph2 parts - although there were some cars which were like that.

All development cars were road registered by TWR - even those built for the crash testing, so they should all be able to be road registered again (in the UK).

This specific car (EP7) was registered as OY02VXE on the 12/03/2002 - which should be enough info for the DVLA to get it registered again.

Another mystery solved. Well done Duncan :approve:

Do hope Rex returns to the forum, if only to read your post above.....
