Poxy Alarm

Finally picked up my vee and im glad to say that i havent stopped arseing about in it and i dont think im ever going to get bored with it.

What i am going to get bored with though is the bloody alarm. The cars fine when i open it, drive it and lock it again, but when i return to the car and simply unlock it with the key fob the alarm goes apeshit. The only way i can then stop the alarm going off is to put key in ignition, turn it on then off, then hold down button on keyfob.

Any ideas pretty please to stop me looking like a w**ker every time im getting petrol!! (look at that bloke with the nice car, shame he cant work the alarm!!) :(

This normally happens when you open the door too quickly after blipping it.

Also, if it goes off a lot when parked, you can deactivate the internal sensors by turning the ignition on and off a couple of times. An audible 'beep' will signify this has been set to 'off' when you lock her up.

I've found most Renault stealers are of absolutely no use when it comes to the alarm unfortunately. Hope this helps a bit though.

I belive the Alarms were fitted by a third party. I have had several problems with the rear boot switch, you dont even want to know what renault did. I also found if you leave the vents open and heater set to demist screen it goes off. I also have to relock the car on the alarm sometimes other wise the thing just makes a beeping tone. It also developed a habbit of going off in the night not fun.

I am going to rip it off and fit something else. [smilie=cool.gif]

Nah its not having it. The alarm is really starting to play up, have to keep checking to see if the cars locked or not because the indicator flashes are not matching up with what the manual says. Wondering if theres a fault somewhere.

Really starting to piss me and my neighbours off. [smilie=badpc.gif]

Solution - leave it unlocked ...

Seriously though alarms can be annoying sometimes. Opening the door too soon has been my only problem.

2 flashes for locked. There are different flash codes which indicate various diagnostic issues but can't rememember off hand what these are. Are these the things you have checked with regards the manual ?

Yeah like you said two flashes means its locked and armed but ive just managed to open the door and start the car without the alarm going off and that was after two flashes, well its one quick flash then a much longer flash, maybe 3 or 4 seconds long.

Maybe im just being impatient, ive only had the vee since monday, maybe i will suss it and it will settle down. :s

my alarm recently has when i lock it started to beep three times

not sure what it means, if i unlock it, then lock it again it does not do it. its when i have just got out after driving it then lock it

anyone know?
