Power Steering Fluid

Hi Guys,

I tried to check my power steering fluid level over the weekend and got pretty confused. As I understand, the fluid is kept in a resevoir on the left side of the engine (as looking from the back) in a silver container that looks a bit like a shock absorber. Is this correct? If so, how the hell am I supposed to check the level!?!?!?!

Cheers,
Phil.

Clarkeeuk, It's very well hidden, it's on the side behind the drivers seat.

I have tried to check my power steering fluid but it is so far under the side that I can't tell how much is in there, even when holding a bright maglite!! What does everybody else do? :s

I'm glad its not just me who could not find it!

Was checking the coolant last weekend then tried to look for power steering, from the owners manual it looks like its on the left side but I'll check on the right this weekend as per your post mainoooo

I was told by Scott that you have to remove all engine covers/surrounds in order to check....

Oatz, I have removed both covers and can see the plastic bottle but can't make out how much fluid is in the bottle because it is so far under the side, if that makes any sense.... :s

If you have the covers off remove the cap and have a look inside, you can also remove the fliter mesh too (black plastic sleeve) and see what the level is :)
