Poundricks Iliad Blue Phase 2

So... the research and ideas just keep coming [smilie=icon_eek.gif]
so far...
LHD - silly idea as they are more expensive than RHD
Cat C or D an d repair - probably too much work

So here is another idea , having spoken to a pleasant enough guy at West Sussex Specialist Cars about Poundricks Old Car...could i bring it back to original 'for nothing' - i.e. selling the stereo stuff for what it costs to get and fit the original interior parts, plus a new bonnet, plus enough left over for a sports exhaust and some leather recaros ...

Only reason really asking is that I cant see scrabbles black Ph2 being available when i have the money but this one i reckon could be hard to sell given its spec....

Oh and Poundrick if you read this - dont mean to insult you and the work you had done (which i read about on here earlier) - its just not for me

Thoughts Anyone ?

I have had no interest in my car. Well apart from a French guy offering me 9K. I didn't even bother replying. If mine is getting no interest then I can't see the rest of the vee's on PH getting much either. My vee is almost mint and looks like a new car. What do people want?

Colin

Scrabble, I think your car is smashing.

Really tempted by it, but as you obviously know, I probably wouldn't get a quick enough sale on mine.

Seems to be a crazy world at the moment.

Too much hassle IMHO, the chances of someone with an illiad wanting to swap engine covers and install with you are slim to none, and a new set of covers is crazy money!

That car never seems to stay with an owner long before it's back up for sale, my advice is to hold out for a nice standard one once you have sold your car

...... and TBH mate Poundricks car wasn't driven too gracefully and i believe it sustained a lot of mechanical damage later on in his ownership.

mmmm - [smilie=thanks.gif] for the info mossy ! Just goes to show the value of this forum to Clio V6 owners and potential owners !

Have to admit I went back and read the original thread where the work inside this car was described and must of missed the first time the fact that there were plans to fit NOS cylinder  Also I think the headlining was done which adds to the work

I still think that woudl make an interesting project to return it to original, if the car could be purchased at the right price, but the other factors would put me off.

Agree with other posts that better to wait for the right car .... just have to hope that scrabble does not sell !!

unless your lucky with finding it all at a cheap breakers, i reckon it would cost more to put back to original than you would make selling the upgrades.

to be honest theres no 'cheap' way in without buying something that will end up costing more than it would of done to just buy one thats already sorted.

kevins black/gold is the cheapest ive seen for a while and would be a steal considering the recent money and effect gone into it. It might be a long wait till you will see another at that price again.

I thought the bloke at WSSC was a bit of a stuck up knobjockey-
but thats my opinion being on the 'customer side of the fence'

I bought my LY V6 of them- Looking back he spouted a load of ol shite for it-
At least I knew I was buying a fairly depreciation proof colour-

I guess they are nice enough-
however just didnt really give me much buying experience-

& they are a 'typical' car sales place- will sell any ol' sh*te to make a buck... IE poundricks car-

The black one hadnt had the belts done when the bloke approached me- so I wonder who WSSC use to do the belts....

Lets hope its someone good.....

S

PS I have a MINT phase 1 available to me in Silver ( been offered to me)
toying with it-

Steve

I emailed WSSC about the BG Vee they have up for circa £15k to see if they were interested in taking my 230 as a part ex. Didn't even have the decency to offer a response. Crazy really, they could have been in for a good deal.

I just can't understand how people in business to do not respond to serious emails. Was also the reason I never went back to Mark Fish for my coil overs.

It's a real pet hate of mine.

Colin, i do have all the parts to put this car back to standard, bad news is it is still together in one lump in a cat c i have. i am looking for a gearbox and could possibly place the engine which leaves the rest spare, just wondered if it tickled your fancy?

Yes he does doesn't he !! And spouts the usual sales shite too. Claims to not be a member here but as 'one of the biggest sellers of Clio V6's' (his words not mine) I find it difficult to believe that he would not monitor what is being said here ?

In his defence he did say that Poundricks car would probably not be for me as I was seeking originality and dont think that he thought the installation would help to sell the car. Said that the previous owner was in the forces ?
