how have people done it? Is it possible to do it by hand? And what is required?!

Lots of Autoglym Machine Cleaner or alternatively Gunk (the stuff in a can not the aerosol type). Then lots of patience and lots of shop cloth (like strong kitchen towel). Apply the Gunk with a brush or spray on the Machine Cleaner, leave, agitate with a brush, clean off - best not to let Machine Cleaner dry.

With things made from various plastics Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber car tends to work quite well as both a cleaner and a finish product.

Theres not much to really look at though, whats the point?

True! Although from my specific point of view the whole lot is going to be on display as it were - no chance of me using the original covers at all...

Keep us updated with pics - I am currently running without my covers as I have a bulkhead.

Would be interested in tarting up engine bay.

=No difference - haha

Im sure it is noticable - lol but not enough to warrant doing it again, it is cast so it is solid.

When its dry, ill spend another night on it and will post pics.
