5 GT Turbo Piston liners assembly

I'm rebuilding a 5 gt turbo engine (standard), I have new liners to install but I have some questions that someone with experience on this engines can help me with:
- some recommend to add a smear of sealant additional to the o-ring seal. Is this recommended ?
- liner protrusion: I have measure above the spec according to Haynes- max 0.090mm. However, all of them are well lined up to each other and also the measurement to the block is similar at all positions. Should I do something ? I don't think the lines can be sand down??

Never bothered with sealant just a smear of grease on the seals to allow the liner to slide in
Have you clamped down the liners to measure protrusion?

All right, thanks for the your comment. No liners were not clamped when I measured protrusion...
