Hi ppl
Sounds a bit of a daft question but could somone tell me the correct orientation of a piper x induction filter. I took it off today and im sure its been fitted the wrong way around.
Basically the way its fitted on mine the incoming air flows through the mesh on the inside of the 'mushroom' if u know what i mean, through the fine foam then through the more coarse foam outside the 'mushroom' then to the engine, it seams wrong to me..?
i think this could explain the hesitation i have had on sudden acceleration, like a blocked air filter.
If somone knows what i mean could they let me know? if it is the case i will have to find a way of cleaning the inside of the filter which i think should be the clean side...
if it makes it clearer , the brass clips on the induction box are positioned on the incoming air side on mine, not on the engine side (this contradicts the photo guide on the knowledge base, which i think is how mine should be).
cheers
Steve
