right guys like it says above i need to get my oil pressure back to rights

from cold the oil pressure at tick over sits at about 2.5 bar but once it gets to running temp the oil pressure on tick over drops to nothing (well .2 of a bar )

but it isn't all the time some times it drops to about 1 bar (which i can accept)
when u rev the engine it picks back upto about 2.5 - 3.5 bar depending on how high the revs are

i think it could be the oil pick up from the blocked or picking up a blockage sump ??????

so where is the best place to get the gasket set from

I've heard that Reno can be a good place to start
Can't really see these being able to be sourced non-gen,but I stand here to be corrected

And probably not as expensive as you think....

A sump gasket WILL NOT affect your oil pressure (unless its so bad all the oil leaks out lol).

The pickup sucks oil up from the bottom of the sump and its pressurised and sent round the system and then returns to the sump through gravitation where it pools and is then sucked up and sent round again.

First thing I'd do is fit an aftermarket pressure gauge to it as the dash gauges are pants for accuracy.

If the aftermarket gauge is showing 0.2 of a bar then think about a new engine  as MINIMUM oil pressure is up around a bar @ idle and this low pressure would also trip your low oil pressure light on the dash.

At idle, at running temperature the oil pressure should be 1 bar, at 3000rpm it should be 3 or 3.5 bar.

Measure it with a calibrated gauge before you spend a mint on new engine bits dude....a glycerin filled gauge and a bit of braided hose will cost you under a score from the right place.

i've already got the aftermarket gauge fitted m8 hense i know wot the pressure readings are

if i change the oil for new then for about a month it runs fine and the pressure is as u have said above but after about 4 weeks it drops off again but only once the engine gets hot as in upto running temp
i.e on the second mark on the temp gauge (ie if sat in traffic)
on normal run it sits on the 1/4 mark (1st mark after the close grouped one's)
and the oil pressure is fine at that :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:
I know the sump gasket won't make the pressure drop but want one so i can remove said sump and see wot is goin on inside

thought it could be some crap sloshin about in the sump that picks up when the egine gets hot and the oil loses it's vescosity a bit

i'll try renault tomorrow thnx guys

Sounds like you need an oil pump mate, and some different grade oil.

Its easy to keep the pressure up when the oil is cooler/thicker but as it gets hot and thins out its struggling to maintain pressure. Either than or your engine is worn, or both.
You could get another pump and do a higher pressure mod but at the end of the day if the engine/pump is worn it wont need the preesure regulator to regulate as it wont reach a high enough pressure anyway.

What brand of gauge is it? And are your low oil pressure warning lights coming on? (looks like you got the ign on without it running, but when its running)
If the low pressure warning aint workin you need to investigate....your aftermarket gauge could be dodgy OR calibrated wrong OR your pressure switch on the car could be shot.

why mechanical m8??????????????????????????????????

it's electronic but works fine as i have checked it against a stand alone one (mechanical)

plus i think i've solved the problem LOL see my other post

A CLOSE SHAVE :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Cos electrical relies on the components that Reno fitted originally, the same components that arent very reliable

Having said that, sod fitting a mechanical one lol Buy one with a sender in the kit, it ought to be a bit more accurate
