That is an interesting one - says "....2002 model" in the description.

De-badged, with non-original wheel and pod colours!

Must have had paint work done - accident damage?

A real shame, if mileage is genuine...........

Bonnet and front bumper are different colour to the wing, no fogs, rear bumper wrong, non standard wheels and pods, missing rear badges.

........ and £29k? Ouch.

Have a weird feeling about this one. Wondering if the Lutecia on Ebay a while a go LINK
or it's Tim's old one from N.Ireland

The plaque

I'm confused! The Lutecia is the Japanese model isn't it? So why would it be left hand drive?
In the original advert for the Lutecia the seller says he saw it in Japan, and it had been there from new. Were right hand drive Ph1 cars not available for a while?

drivers seat airbag deployed and repaired.

Looks like a front, side and rear impact. Poorly repaired. Can't believe it's a 900 miles car.

I thought Japan was left? or do the just drive on the left?

"About a quarter of the world’s nations drive on the left side of the road, Japan being one of them"

Japanese are RHD, same as us hence the large number od classics going to japan and imports of Pajeros (Shogun) and all the hot jap iron over three years old as the tax system there is punitive for older cars

Japan drive on the left, but many of the vees over there are LHD as LHD carries more cachet with enthusiasts.

previous topic on this car

It certainly isnt original and it looks like its crash repaired. James is that plaque you have posted the exact plaque from the car in question? I ask its badged clio, but with a lutecia plaque? Perhaps when it was repaired it picked up a tailgate from another clio, hence the non lutecia badge.

It isnt a ph1 test/demo car, thats for sure, it was manufactured 3 years too late.

Would like to have a close up look at it and find out more abouts its history. Certainly wouldnt consider sinking 30k in to it without knowing the truth.

Why would someone pay 30k for it? Must be mad! And it will definitely won't increase 10 times in price as the add says, well maybe in 200 years time if it survives...

I realized when I went to Japan last year that the very few Renaults I saw there were all LHD but the rest of the Japanese cars were RHD, very strange. You can see these pictures I took here:

No fogs & pretty squiffy exhaust, off centre & I don't believe it left the factory like that. The ad smells wrong & has the a hint of scam about it. Also what is up with dealers putting 9 photos of exterior & 1 distant interior shot?.

Forgot to mention, boot debadged & looks like they've colour painted boot handle/lock as early models came with black plastic ones, later phase 1's had renault logo on them.

Also, the rear quarter panels have been smoothed into the top half of the rear bumper. There should be a join either side under the rear lights. It then looks like the bottom section of the rear bumper comes away...
