Phase 2 Tire Size on my 2nd Vee :)

Hello Everyone!

Many of you will be surprised but I went ahead and bought the only other phase 2 V6 in Saudi Arabia! :). That's how much I love the car! Had to sell my titanium silver to balance the books. This one is an Illiad blue example with 20,000 kms on the clock! Had to spend an arm and a leg replacing the timing belts, all four shocks (two were leaking a little but I'm fussy and a few friends recommended changing all 4 at the same time) along with a few other things. Will now replace the tires before commencing work on the exterior. A few questions:

1). I know that the 205 front tires were discontinued and Renault recommended 225's instead. I have access to 205 fronts now. Which would you guys/gals recommend? Pros and cons of each option if possible please. Roads here are horrible and no tracks to take my car to so comfort is the priority.

2). Briefly drove the car and it seems like the geometry is WAAY off. Has anyone had that experience after replacing their shocks? Do I need an alignment? Could there have been special instructions the mechanic should have followed when replacing the shocks? All the work is being done at Renault but the guys here don't know what they're doing most of the time. Kindly note that the shocks are original Koni's.

Thank you!

If you have replaced your shockers you will have the camber all over the place as the bottom bolt holes are slotted and need to be set up on an optical set up. Once the camber is correct, the rest shouldn't be too far out but......! Full alignment can make an evil handling Vee turn into a joy to drive! Car was designed for 205s originally so in theory should be better, but several people run 225s, all a matter of preference, I prefer the 205 Pilots.

Have fun! [smilie=yay.gif]
