Phase 2 #116 on eBay (No Reserve), but......

[v6plaque]116[/v6plaque] has been advertised as 'renault clio v6 (Not Working) Seized Alternator'.

"I've owned this beautiful car from new. The car is a non runner. Seized Alternator. The car has been SORNED since Oct 2015 when it's Tax Disc expired. The car has been started weekly and left to run. making sure the brakes are free, moving the car. The car has never been left with it's handbrake on. Having problems with the battery, I purchased a new one but with the seized Alternator. the battery is useless. The car has not been started for a couple months now. The car will need a Cam belt and water pump.(overdue) This can be done at the same time of changing the Alternator! The two rear tyres need replacing. The reason for not putting the car though it's MOT. I only put 6 months Tax on the car during the summer, planned to get the tyres and MOT done for the summer of 2016. (other reasons this was put on hold- should have taken the opportunity to sell then!) The Alarm has been playing up. very sensitive. Front Headlight glass/plastic have started to age and lightly cloudy Black trim has faded in colour. Front Grill One of the fog lights do not work. the connection terminal has corroded inside. The two Alloy wheels, passenger side have curb damage. the underneath of the front bumper has damage from the road. (pictures) A few small stone chips at the front. Service history up to 2015 2 Keys V5 Log Book All the paperwork Collection only; you will need car trailer or recovery truck."

Seems like a good project, if straight......one owner too.

Bidding up to £8,600 at present (17 bids). Guesses on how much this will go for?

It looks unloved and with the state of those headlamps it's been outside for years. I'll bet it has a fair bit of corrosion on the bits underneath and in the (front) boot. I wonder why there are so few photos? It doesn't take a big effort!

Wow! Now at £19,200 (29 bids).....with over 7 days to go......

Have to agree with you Mark - now that you mention it, corrosion will be the one single thing that would worry me too.

Scam bidding? Why would you pay this for a relative clunker when there are several decent cars available out there at this sort of money without all the problems associated with this one? Unless of course it is part of the Hatton Gardens raid and the chassis is full of diamonds?.,,,,!!!

The seller has just added that the car has always been kept outside on the drive, the disks are 'very pitted'. all the metal bits on the car have surface rust and the steering wheel needs recovering. Nothing that can't be sorted of course, but a lot of hours and a bit of cash to sort. Then it needs a big service with undoubtedly everything needing to be replaced! I would have thought that £12k - £15k would have been about the right sort of level for this car.

Must be shill bidding.

I think you are right, look at the bid history of the auction.

A user with 0% feedback has bid 19 times, each time at very small increments only minutes apart each time.

I bet there are some bid retractions or an auction ended early!

The genuine bidding appears to of fizzled out at around £15,000, which IMO, is about the right price.

Probably be relisted soon after the auction ends, after the seller has been messed around a bit - the joys of eBay :(

"t***t(0) Cancelled:£34,900.00

-***-(0)
Cancelled:£37,000.00

two bidders, both zero feedback, both cancelled bids.

t***t indeed!

£27k

Not right that.
you're right. will it be back up for sale?
but the person who "won" it has 90 previous purchases so they seem legit but I wouldn't pay £27k for a non starting rusting car when you can go to a dealer and get one that works for similar money

Did seem pricey for what it was... and Interestingly there has been no feedback left by the "buyer".... shill bidding anyone ?

Ebay is a nightmare for trying to sell expensive stuff using bidding. looking at the old listing at the bottom shows cancelled bids and there were two entered by profiles with zero bid history - one of £34,000 and one for £37,000. Is this dicks just messing about?? no wonder he cancelled their bids.
