I'd like to know the original code for ph1 body kit? I think some of the kit's were not painted ? Or was it all of them ? Any ideas?
I'd like something similar to this -
I thought originally all were un painted. Textured plastic paint seems to be the paint of choice for if they have been painted and you want it to look original.
If someone has painted it in the past, you're better off getting a textured plastic paint like @davemaygtt suggests.
Painting all of it would be the easiest way to get all of the plastics matching.
Yeah the plan has always been to spray the whole kit. I have ph1 arches and under light sections to fit and the rest of the kit especially the front bumper could do with a lick of paint. I'd just like to get it as near as original as poss.
I just want to try and get a paint that is as original in colour as possible. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with a particular paint/colour in the past.
As said the kits are coloured group from factory.
I use a structure spray, there's various types, fine, coarse etc. It's clear.
The kit can then be painted but to keep the textured look it needs to be painted with a basecoat before laquer, not a solid. Matting agent can be added to the laquer for less of a sheen.
Everyone's preference is different.
I did Josh's silver ph1 kit prepped like that but only used satin black aerosols for the finish but personally wanted a heavier coat of paint.
I'd use black, any coded black will have other tinters in there.
