phase 1 engine wont rev

engine ticks over lumpy but wont rev when accelerator pedal is pressed and fault light is on any ideas anyone thanks

hi it was not coils but the accelerator pedal sensor ive erased fault on diagnostics and its ok now thanks

This happened to mine as well - suggest you check the connectors per my post below as I had all mine cleaned for the pedal + under the bonnet + engine so would not come back again.

2 places to check; 1st one inside the footwell on the pedal, 2nd one is in the front compartment; take the liner out and whilst standing at the front of the car look down and to your right. There's a big component with brake lines running to it; attached to the left hand side of this is the throttle pot and you should be able to see the cable coming from the bulkhead where the pedal box is to the throttle pot.

It's probably not an issue with the cable unless you actually have a "sticky" pedal i.e. it doesn't return smoothly or it makes some interesting noises.
