Ph2 Car Covers

I have to kick my newly acquired Ph 2 out of the garage for 3 to 4 weeks for domestic reasons.. I am weighing up between putting the car in short term storage or buying a car cover for it, as my area seems to be plagued with flying feathered sh*tbags.
I have had experience with “Monsoon “ covers in the past on a MX-5 and I thought they were very good for all year round use, but rather OTT and expensive for short term summer use. Can anyone offer advice and or experience, good or bad, on this subject.

PS and unrelated. Are the very sexy black stretch covers that I have seen on cars at Scott’s available from anywhere

That's the classic additions indoor. Available to any colour / logo combo required.

I've got an outdoor one too - but am hanging on to that 'just in case'.

I'm sure Steve Murr just sold an outdoor cover on here a few weeks ago...

Classic Additions can also have a template for a cover to fit a Vee with a Trophy spoiler. They made mine bespoke after I supplied the measurements of the spoiler. Couldn't be happier with the fit & quality & thoroughly recommend them from both a price and Customer Service point of view.

Now that's interesting! I might need one...

Any photos of said cover Jim, sounds great :salut:

Yep, got photos of both indoor & outdoor covers they did for me with the Trophy spoiler. Let me dig them out & I'll post them over the w/e when I'm near my computer

Can't find indoor cover pics at the moment, ostensibly the same but with the indoor cover like Kett's pic, in red material & trophy spoiler.

When i first got my V6 and came on here asking about outdoor covers, the general opinion was they're bad for the car due to moisture not escaping and lead to paint bubbling. Atleast that's what i was told from a few guys on here so i never purchased one. Do you have any issues with yours? Also whats the longest period you've left it on the car without removing it (ie: over winter etc)? My garage covers the car fully but its got no door so when its windy, the front of the car does get a few splashes on it during heavy rain hence my interest. I park my 172 right infront of it, operation clio-shield.

You could always fit a garage door.
; )

Seriously though...
My outdoor cover has a fleece inner layer and I can't imagine how this could blister the paint. That said, my friend covered his 928 GTS over-winter with an 'approved' cover which cause his paint to blister - very expensive respray.

I acquired my outdoor cover for summer use to protect from bird crap.

Fully insulated garage and indoor cover is the only sensible option for winter storage.

Perfect, what do these cost matey?

Thanks for the thought, yeah one of those risky things as theres a number of circumstances which could effect it.
Garage door is probably a sensible option bit its a double garage (side ways not length ways) so id need a block in the middle to stop the doors coming in etc.

No issues with paint blistering & I had it on all winter. The only thing I experienced was a bit of rubbing on the rear side panels when the wind would blow hard & make the cover whip around a bit, it's not a lot & will buff out ( I think/hope ).

Cost wise I think was a couple of hundred quid if I remember.

It saved my car from the elements, bird shit & the local cat population spraying all up the bumpers, wheels & bodywork.

Forgot to mention it comes with a rubber coated steel cable & padlock to fix it under the car & deter thieves from nicking the cover itself.

Found some pics of the indoor cover ( taken with an instant camera methinks ! ). It fits alot better than i put it on, was in a bit of a rush.

Thanks for all the info chaps! I'll be buying me one of these I think, seeing as the garage doesnt have a roof yet and all :)
