I see [v6plaque]305[/v6plaque] which has lived in Kensington and Chelsea for the last 10 years was up for auction at Bonhams yesterday.
I originally ordered this as my company car but it was delayed at the factory so became Jeremy Townsend's car for 18 months and according to the Bonhams information it was sold in 2007 at 24,000 miles but the MOT check shows it was probably 14,000 as the 2008 MOT shows it at 15,800.
The original registration was HY06 YHD which it will probably go back onto as the owner is retaining S999 SOS.
Sold to the current owner in 2007 they have had it for 10 years and it is now at 25,500 miles.

The guide price was £40k to £45k but it did NOT sell. No idea how close it got to that on the day. I think that is about the ballpark price for this car so was accurately appraised but therefore little profit margin for a dealer. Will be interesting to see if it appears at their next UK auction but Bonhams don't do many here so it may turn up somewhere else.

Apparently this was at Scotts a couple of weeks ago and it was quite tired looking from living outside for 10 years in central London with marks on every panel and a hand painted black strip along the bottom of the front bumper to cover up paint chips which you can see if you zoom in on the top picture!
That will not have helped its cause.

I was thinking it would probably have a few parking dinks and scratches from living in town, but being outside as well must mean that it's pretty 2nd hand I guess.

I have seen this up close a few times - it sits out on the road near Knightsbridge.

It looks like a car thats been left out on the street. Lots of little marks, kerbed wheels, generally untidy. You can see it in the close up photos on the auction site the sills are scratched like crazy! Not to say that it couldn't be easily sorted out, but its not at the standard of a 40k car, hence not selling IMO.

Its also been to K-tec in the past....run for the hills!!! :rofl:

All wrapped up and tucked away in its nice soft, warm cover in the barn! :approve: had about 6" of snow today so wont be playing with it in the next few days

The way prices have gone makes the low mileage Illiad phase 2 (Cat D repaired) for sale in Monmouth for the past couple of years look like the right sort of money at £18k. It's a driver quality car for sure rather than a mint collector car, but with a good service / recommissioning there's a lot of fun to be had for relatively little money. And it's the 8th from last one made (plaque 345)!!

Part of the 'Collector's Motor Cars and Automobilia' auction, so would have been in the company of some top notch metal, and for all the reasons given above, I suspect it is not surprising that it didn't sell. Wonder how far it got to before bids dried up.....

Must say the photographs look really great, even the standard (ish) interior looks good, except perhaps for the dropped gear lever gaiter.....

The photo's are ok in that you can 'zoom in' which reveals a whole heap of useage, start with the steering wheel ! No way this car was going to reach the guide.

It also won't have helped that the illiad at CCA only made £22K with fees the weekend before, albeit blue and CAT D it was probably in better cosmetic condition than the liquid. Good useable car for someone.
