In the register it's owned by Mark Cronin who is a registered forum user. There's no mention of Cat D in his advert?

Mark was a Club Member until he expired 2 weeks ago.

There has been earlier forum mentions of MK2 subrames in late MK 1s

Mine is 1226 and apparently it has a mk2 subframe

I wouldn't know the difference to be honest :s

As far as im aware the numbers have he haw to do with when a vee was built?? Anything over 500 is non uk is that right?

Correct mine is an import!

I wouldn't say it's a bad thing at all so long as the car is in good shape I can't see that it matters becuase lets face it they are all imports really! I'm sure someone will disagree with me :rofl:

Do imports come with alarms etched windows and tracker fitted etc?

Same awesome car minus tracker. Some are etched and have lock nuts depending on which country it was originally ordered for. Imports via euro internet dealers were quite popular back then. Quite a few came routed through Southern Ireland.
