Wonder if anyone can help me.
Car is a '96 Megane Coupe F7R.
Basically Sunday evening I went out to unlock the car and the remote key didn't unlock the car. I manually unlocked the car (alarm going off at this point) removed the infra red sensor from behind the rear view mirror and it was covered in water. I brought the PCB inside, dried it on tissue and ran the hair dryer over it. Went back out to plug it in and the remote central locking and alarm started working again.
Mrs opened the car Monday morning and drove to work no issues. However after work the car would not unlock with the fob. I went to have a look, it hadn't rained since it last worked and the PCB was dry. I removed it and put it on the hot air vent on my car to warm it up a bit with no joy. Brought the PCB home and left it in the airing cupboard overnight on a sachet of silica gel.
Today the RAC recovered the car home on a flat bed. I tried it again this evening no joy.
I have downloaded the program to calculate the 4 digit immobiliser code and can start the car now, however the alarm won't go out and I cannot get the key to lock and unlock the central locking.
Any ideas what to try next or am I missing something? I only got 1 key when I purchased the car so trying a spare isn't possible. I have put new batteries in the key and can see it is sending out an IR beam when pointed at a camera phone. The RAC man also pointed it at his key tester and said the key was working :evil:
