The ex-Stuart Pike (SPIKE) Iliiad Blue Ph2 now resides with me in Sandhurst Berks. Stuart has had major surgery and was still in hospital at last hearing. I wish him well.
The car has new belts and water pump so should not need anything major in the near future, touch wood!!
First Impressions… though it’s early days.
Plenty of torque. Good Grip. Plenty of tyre noise but you start to ignore it after a while. Bus driver steering wheel position. Daft trip computer (drive 80 miles and distance to fill hardly changes). Lethal minor controls where you have to take your eyes off the road and stare at the floor to change the unfamiliar climate control. I have a VW Sharan that is the same!!. The well known daft turning circle. When I shift from fifth to sixth it always reminds me of Smashie and Nicey. Lots of fun and a big smile
Great service from Scott at SG when buying it from Spike.
I’m a guy who gets precious about special cars and I will park at the far end of the car park to avoid door bangers. Do you look back at your special car when you walk away from it…that’s me !!
I have used my RX-7 to fundraise for the Sporting Bears charity in the Dream Rides at the NEC Classic Car Show for many years and plan to do it again this November in the V6 this time. I didn’t get much “trade” with the RX-7 as most people have no idea what one is and classic car people mostly don’t “get” Japanese cars. The competition from Ferraris, Lambos and Mclarens means less well known cars go unnoticed.
I have done Dream Rides at Kimbolton once as well.
I attend the local informal car shows such as the monthly “Crotch Coolers” at Alton on the first Sunday of the month. http://www.crotchcooler.co.uk/events/
I look forward to meeting more V6’ers at event this summer.
The car has been named BRUTE after comments from my wife. Seems apt.
If anyone within a reasonable distance has the Pierre Gaston V6 book, I would like to take a look at it before wasting too much time trying to get one.
See y'all
