Perspex Engine Cover

Got this yesterday was thinking of putting it on today but cant get the twist clips out of the original cover can these be bought rather than having too take them out of the original one ??

Hi Sam,

Good to meet you yesterday.

The twist clips can be removed by prising off the washers which then allows them to be removed. Maybe take another look and see how you go. I think the clips can be purchased but are quite expensive from Renault but IIRC, some owners have sourced them from other suppliers.

I am sure there will be some further comments.

Why cant you get the original screws off mate? Place a screwdriver in the small holes in the washer and open them up :approve:

You can get new one's, but DONT BUY THEM FROM RENAULT!!! Unless you are feeling rich!!! Load of places on ebay sell them.

Search "Dzus" on ebay mate.

Yeah I just don't want too damage the original washers TBH and was struggling too bend them too get the twist clips out so thought it would be easier too buy new ones if there cheap enough. I will have another look tomorrow.

You may want to measure the original Dzus fastener before buying them.

I think it is normally finding the correct width of the fastener that is the major problem. These look a little small on the diameter.

Janelle (Ozbird) found the correct diameter DZUS.
Sadly, there was some additional work achieving tight closure as the pin lengths must differ slightly too...
