ok guys, poss doing a full forged engine on the clio.

am needing contacts for parts tho.

am thinking uprated gaskets and forged low compression pistons. if any one has any info that would be great.

even if i have to source stuff from abroad its not an issue.

wot sort of power can be had out of a high boosting supercharged v6????

cheers

lewis

Lewis, MikeT is your man with experience on supercharger and turbos on a Vee.

I think Scott at SG Motorsport is the main man to speak to as he tunes Mikes car, I believe, and those of people like Timv6 and Ray who also have high powered n/a cars. Trw1 has a nitrous powered Vee also.

Plenty of info available from these guys I would imagine. Would be nice to see another forced induction Vee.

well its not 100% gonna happen. hopefully it will but with a house purchase in progress its tight.

its at gdi at the mo but the bloke who originally built the car is going to do the build, if neccesary. im still sure its a sensor issue but they havent managed to get into the ecu?

anyone got any prices of parts. compression ratios etc.

Hi;

I presume you mean uprated headgasket however if you are talking inlet gaskets then see the link below... (you may have already seen)
http://www.v6clio.net/forum/viewtopic.p ... 7&start=40

Don't pay GDI prices for these - as you can see at the beginning of that thread they were in the region of £150 a time, +VAT.
We will be offering them much cheaper of course!

I will be updating that post later tonight with some information from a 172 gasket thread (can't access cliosport from work PC).
We have just had testing done with R-Tuner - a comparison was done on idling and driving with 1mm/1.5mm PTFE gaskets... the difference in inlet temps is actually quite amazing!Thats with 1mm/1.5mm gaskets as opposed to the 3mm or 5mm/1.5mm gaskets we will be using for the V6 - also the 172 bay is pretty much an oven with the plenum actually bolted to the head so I would expect perhaps even better results!

Cheers anyway! :approve:

to turbo/supercharge it and build it forged you need a budget of £20k

Engine is £10k for the full monty built
Electronics are about £6k installed
Turbo and conversion is about £4k

This can easily go skywards!!

Power is 400 and 400 at 1 bar or 500 and 500 at 1.5 bar give or take.

You'll also need a sequential box for about £10k fitted!! (and a clutch etc etc) (and driveshafts)(and GKN motorsport CV joints) etc

Buy the house!

Great summary I reckon :approve:

There is of course the Lotus Exige or Evo option ...

I think that may have put that one to bed then!!!

Yes Tim

To be fair I got nearly all my parts very very cheap, its not been plain sailing though more of a lerning curve. Its starting to come together now though.

Cant wait to turn the key and hear it fire up (or go bang)

The bigest problem with the Clio V6, is that because of the limited number it not cost effective for tuners to go to town on mods. I know SG do a fair bit for people, but this can be very expensive which can easily be justified when doing bespoke work.

I would like a full set of silicon hoses and pipes but again cost to make them will be high (unless tou buy straight pipe and ally couplers)

Can only see the parts avalible now becoming more scarce in the future.
