Passenger Seat Problems

Hi,

I'm after some help regarding the passenger seat in my Phase 2.

1) Can you adjust the height of the seat?

2) More importantly, I used the handle on the rear of the seat to move it forward so I could clean behind it. Now the passenger seat is loose sliding backward and forward with braking and acceleration. There seems no way to lock the seat back in place.

Any ideas on how to resolve would be appreciated.

Handbook only mentions drivers seat height adjustment.

It might help to know Carl, that if the seat isn't relocated properly in the down/resting position, this will cause the seat to continue to slide back and forth as if it's still in the flipped forward position.

Thanks for the message.

Well I found a broken metal piece under the seat and after looking at the service manual on this web site it looks as though it was from the seat.

I took it to the local Renault dealership and they ordered a replacement for the amazingly high sum of £32.

Hi,

The part for the seat is arriving tomorrow. I've had a look at how to remove the passenger seat and have drawn a blank.

Is it possible to remove the seat without the running rails?

If so how?

Part wasn't correct from Renault. It was only the metal part, without the plastic bit :(

The part that is broken and come off is a small metal piece measuring about 5cm x 2cm. It is metal and has a plastic bit attached to it with a small spring. It is the plastic bit that is broken. The piece sits on the outside seat runners of both the driver and passenger seat.

The Renault dealer reckons I need to order new seat runners.

item 1

RUNNERS SEAT C3
77 01 207 201

£137.90

It's part 11 in the picture, although the picture just shows the metal bit and a spring without the black plastic part that is attached.

Hopefully I can find a second hand runner.
