Overpriced damaged Ph2 for sale..............

As the forum expert, due to my stupid move of buying a damaged V6, here's my humble opinion

The shell with proberly be twisted so will need jigging, you will need to source a sill section with some floor and the A and B posts, off a used breaking car £600 plus jigging and panel fitting £1200. If not you will be spending LOTS at renault,£2000 if the panels are available.

You will also need door with glass and overskin skin £400 , oversill £200, rear wing £1200 and scoop £550,front wing £350, seat for airbag deployment £200, roof repairs etc, with a finished value of £10K to 11K, repairs of at least £6k it value is about £4K max and you could still catch a big cold.

At a value of £4K it maybe better to break it, but even then your will need to sell almost everything off the car to get that much.

I would not buy it unless it was about £3K max but now as many parts are being put on the unavailabe list by Renault even that price would not be low enough.

Good points steve and i know you have been there but, thinking that reno have / are discontinuing lots of bits there has got to be a balance between munched price and a break price. i think 4k is about right because as the parts get more scarce the value sureley goes up! so there has got to be a base level for values on this sort of junk. five years on what price for a GOOD engine and box?? i have no idea where this is going but i know prices are going up, just look at the driveshaft price of £382 +vat, i need one just for the boot.........its giving me a headache.

A friend of mine had a test drive in a Mini Cooper S today. She said there was a lovely looking Illiad v6 there too! Number 097!! Looks like someone has repaired it! :s
