Original tracker

Does anyone use the original tracker or are these not supported and require a new tracking device installed?

I still use mine. I paid a life time subscription all those years back when i brought it (from new)

Im sure they are still active.

When I bought mine me I rung them up. Had to sit in the car so they could check that it worked!

But now, sadly no life time joining fees!! They clicked on to that and realised they could get £125.00 a year!

If you don’t pay for it they are not active!

That’s why I ask, my insurance asked if it’s active.

I paid for a lifetime subscription, however if you google trafficmaster trackstar, it seems to be an obsolete system.

I had a Metatrak system fitted recently. The guy who fitted it used to fit the RAC Trackstar, which are now defunct, they sold the license to another company. Anyway he said that when they fitted them, they were a badly mocked up unit and were not that good. As for Tracker, yes they seem to have realised that they can charge silly money for subscriptions, I did have a lifetime subscription on my 5 Turbo, but they do not sell or transfer it now. The engineer said that Tracker were becoming very unpopular and customers were moving onto other tracking companies now.

If the company was sold the subscriptions should have carried over. That’s my stance on it, I bet that’s argued.

If you paid for life time then I’d say it still works! Might be worth ringing them to make sure..

Not sure who are even out there to use! I had s tracker system on my car before the vee and that was life time but once sold that went!

I eventually confirmed that I’m still on the system and I’m a lifetime subscriber.

They wanted me to start the car and put it onto the drive to send a test signal to the tracker.

Good news they still have a record of me 14 years later.

What number did you call Simon, maybe I should do the same as you just to be sure?
