For the BMW guys on here you would have loved the first Pistonheads Sunday Service this year at the new Head office of BMW MINI GB.
Loads of new M car product on display and some of the older modern classic like M3 CSL and 1M Coupe.
I admire BMWs for their engineering but they don't push the want one button for me generally. However there are always exceptions to the rule and the i8 certainly is. If this is the future I'm very happy ( as long as I can keep the petrol swilling Vee hidden from the EU authorities of course). Such intelligent engineering wrapped in a proper amazing looking body. They had this stunning red one today.
But the one I really wanted to see was the M2. This for me screams the same philosophy as the Vee by ramming in a big engine, pump out the track and wheel arches and bumpers and make it look compact but fantastic. And it does. Obviously more "electronic" than the old school Clio I sat in it thinking "if I got the auto gearbox version then it wouldn't replace the Vee but could be the bonkers car for when I might be in traffic in a city. " Get a blue one and it would look fantastic next to the LY Vee :race:
Great to see that BMWs come in colours other than black, grey and white too!
My car was the only Renault there I saw! and only one Ferrari and one Aston so they must all still be in their carcoons!
